BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS (BI)
Federal and state background checks are a mandated requirement for many individuals in the State of Florida. Changes in law passed during the 2010 legislative session require persons seeking employment with a health provider to have a level 2 livescan background screening. This change is effective beginning August 1, 2010.
To facilitate the efficient processing of Florida applicant’s, i3GlobalSecurity providing mobile LiveScan /or fingerprint, Level II, Background Screening Solution across the State of Florida.
The electronic submission will involve the use of an i3GlobalSecurity livescan machine. The livescan is, essentially, a sophisticated scanner and personal computer that captures fingerprint images and demographic data and submits this information to FDLE and the FBI. A criminal history records search is completed and in the case of health care professions in Florida, the results are forwarded to Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). AHCA will review the criminal history and make a determination on the applicant’s employment eligibility. AHCA will then make its Applicant determination available to providers
